The hotel can be reached quickly by bus from the SBB railway station in 4 stations. The tram takes you quickly to the old town. At the latest from the Barfüsserplatz you can get everywhere by public transport. With the Basel Card you could use the public transport free of charge. Moreover, there were reduced entrance fees for many museums. This should be considered in any case, for example if one buys tickets for the museums in advance. We could easily have saved 25 CHF if we had bought our tickets for the Fundation Beyeler with the Basel Card. Also within walking distance, the oldtown of Basel can be reached in a few minutes. On the 4th floor of the hotel there is a lounge where one could always make oneself some teas and coffee (if there are enough glasses available). The breakfast was delicious. Absolutely fantastic and delicious were the incredibly fresh bread, which we absolutely have to recommend with the hotel's own forest berry jam. This was the absolute highlight. Those who do not want to have breakfast in the hotel can walk to one of the many bakers in the proximity. The TV had a wide choice of programs in different languages (German, French, Italian) as also radio stations. We had a family room. The sofa bed can be counted as a full-size bed, the lying surface corresponds to a double bed. Insofar the 3rd person sleeps qualitatively as well as the other persons in the bed. The personnel was extremely friendly and helpful. Especially the waitress in the dining room was always friendly and obliging. Her "good day" always came from the heart and her smile always welcomed us. Currently the restaurant is being renovated so that breakfast is served in the wooden pavilion. But this is absolutely no impairment of the comfort. I had my birthday during our stay and was happy to receive a wonderful sweet treat as well as a hearty birthday card. Many thanks for this!
in the bathroom it was often very cold and due to the missing heating there, heat could only be provided by the room heating. breakfast buffet was indeed rich, there was no alternation.

Good location, tram close by. Tram ticket included in room price. We had booked a bigger room including breakfast, which was under the roof, but therefore also warm (outside it was > 30 degrees C).

The hotel is located in a calm but central area of Basel, nestled within a lovely big park. It offers a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing stay. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped, with extra-large baths and even a kitchen and sitting area. The attention to detail is evident, with hairdryers provided and beautiful mountain views from some of the rooms. Another highlight is the pleasant garden where you can enjoy breakfast outside, which is included in the rate.
All was more than satisfactory.

Since years my "standard hotel" in Basel, for this price you will get nothing comparable ! At best the Teufelshof, but depending on the room there are considerable problems with the noise level and the silence (but also good). The furnishing is simple but high quality (apart from the Italian design people in every room) and if you need some space to work there is a bigger room for little extra charge or for free. The primary goal of a hotel: good and easy to stay overnight is fulfilled, which for me as a frequent traveller is unfortunately not a matter of course. Sure, in the 5-stars hotel Trois Rois you stay more comfortable but you pay 5 times as much, apart from the "additional costs". The staff is also very friendly and helpful. I will still book the training centre next time.

I recently stayed at a hotel in Basel and had a wonderful experience. the location of the hotel was perfect - situated in a lovely big park, it felt like I was staying in the middle of nature while still being just a short walk away from the city center. I even had the option to have breakfast outside in the pleasant garden, which was a great way to start the day. The staff at the hotel were also friendly and helpful, making sure I had everything I needed during my stay. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with functional lighting and a comfortable bed. The hotel also provided breakfast included in the rate, a nice touch that added value to the overall experience.
All was well, no complaints.

Hotel breakfast was delicious and that was the first place where I had oatmeal during my 2 week Euro trip. Rooms are big, beds comfortable. We got welcome chocolate. During night it was very good to sleep, just birds and silence, very relaxing.
Parking is expensive, should be for free. No bar or dinner at the hotel.

It was a refreshing change to the business hotels. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the rooms immaculate. Great value and location as well. Loved the tram system for getting around and was so convenient to have it right outside the hotel grounds.

We had a great stay in a peaceful location, close to all main attractions. Helpful staff, interesting building, and various sitting areas. Room was spacious and had comfortable beds, beautiful lighting, eco-friendly toiletries, with complimentary water bottles.
Nothing, all great.

Centrally Located Cosy Hotel near Public Transport and Christmas Market
This hotel is conveniently located in a quiet area close to the town centre and public transport, with easy access to the renowned Basel Christmas Market. the rooms are spacious and clean, and the hotel staff provides excellent service. the included breakfast is decent and satisfying.
Room Quality Could Be Better. The room quality is not exceptional, with creaking wooden floors and thin walls that are prone to noise.

Ideal spacious hotel for a long weekend. Fairly quiet and bright room with climate control and coffee. Great and incredible location for visiting tapas bars and restaurants...
Beds were very bad.
